On August 15, 2012 Renato D’Agostin spent two hours on the volcano Etna in Sicily.
He wanted to express what every tourist can experience in an afternoon tour to the volcano. More than being a photographer he wanted to be a tourist again.
His gaze on the Sicilian volcano seems to tell us of an alien place, a lunar landscape where shadows and figures move along ineluctable lines, fumes and mists of Dantesque atmosphere, figures inhabiting a magical world as it is the ancestral volcano, with thousands of symbolic references.
A sense of power that seethes beneath the unnatural stillness evolves through the images.
